The Anaheim Amateur Radio Association, founded in 1961, is one of the oldest radio clubs in Orange County. The Association operates two repeater sites. One atop the Veterans Hospital in Long Beach. The second on top of St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton. Each site has one 2M and one 220Mhz repeater. The 2M frequency is 146.790. PL is 103.5 for Long Beach and 114.8 for St Jude. The 220 frequency is 224.50. PL is 156.7 for Long Beach and 162.2 for St Jude. Our Repeaters are Open and you are welcome to use them.
Monthly meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Anaheim Utility Service Center (USC), 909 E. Vermont Ave., Anaheim, CA. There is no meeting in December. The Association attempts to have an interesting program each month followed by a short business meeting. We also encourage people to bring items for a "Show & Tell" session following the program. This affords a great chance to see some of the things other Hams are interested in. Each month we hold a 50-50 drawing. Tickets are sold for $1 each, the proceeds are then split 50-50 between the club and the winner. Breakfast is held the 1st Saturday each month at Keno's, 2661 W. La Palma, just west of Magnolia in the city of Anaheim. Breakfast starts at 8:00 AM. All are welcome to attend. The club newsletter, Squelch, is sent to each member monthly. It includes Association news and articles of interest about amateur radio. Members are encouraged to submit articles for the newsletter. Distribution is by e-mail attachment. It may also be downloaded from this website. Membership in the Association is open to all Radio Amateurs. Yearly dues are $20 for individuals and $5 for each additional family member. Our membership year begins on July 1, dues for people who join during the year are prorated on a quarterly basis. If you are interested in joining the Anaheim Amateur Radio Association you can contact the Membership Chairman Margaret, WA6PZO, by sending a note to our P.O. Box or Email to wa6pzo@msn.com and she will get membership information to you. Or better yet attend one of our meetings and get to know us better first. Visitors are always Welcome! |
